Philosophy

Why tarot on 'the moon'?

The moon holds a special place in my heart, having grown up with the Taoist myth of the moon goddess Chang’e. Cautionary tale or message of empowering liberation - there are myriad ways to interpret Chang'e’s flight to the moon, just as there are infinite interpretations of the tarot.

In the tarot, The Moon card (XVIII) symbolises mystery and unconscious energies. It serves as a reminder to dig beyond the surface for answers, reminding us that our fears and anxieties often portend deeper roots. Likewise, under the auspices of The Moon, a tarot reading can uncover messages we might not be aware of in our daily lives.

Readings
What is the usual procedure of a reading?

Within your chosen time slot (15 minutes to an hour), we'll go through questions that you've prepared beforehand, or questions that I'll help you craft on the spot. Thereafter, I will be pulling and interpreting cards for you. My approach is free and intuitive, meaning I rarely follow fixed spreads, except during themed events or per special request. You will be able to seek clarifications during the reading, or up to 24 hours after the reading (although no additional cards will be drawn).

Do note that you are highly encouraged to stick with your selected time slot. On-the-spot extensions will only be allowed if there are no subsequent time clashes.

How many questions can I ask?

As many questions that can fit into your chosen time slot. I do not set a limit on questions, nor the number of cards you desire to pull. For reference, 15 minutes usually accommodates 2 questions.

Do you have an alternative pricing scheme?

I aim to strike a balance between prices that are commensurate with my knowledge and experience, while remaining accessible to a wider audience. Please contact me personally if you'd like a reading but you have difficulty affording it. As I'm operating under good faith, I trust that you will take this option only if you need it.

General Tarot

Is the tarot fortune-telling?

It can be. Like other divination tools, the tarot is equipped to offer predictions about the future. However, I believe that its most transformative impact lies in triggering self-reflection and knowing.

So even though it can be used for fortune telling, I prefer positioning the tarot as a tool for change. Through the tarot, we understand that the future is not a monolith set in stone, but a web of ever-shifting influences that we exercise power over.
